About Offduty
Offduty holds your Gmail inbox and releases it on your schedule.
It holds incoming email and delivers it in scheduled batches, for example twice a day at 9am and 5pm. Between those windows, your inbox stays at its last-delivered count. It is built specifically for Gmail and Google Workspace users who want a simple, affordable way to control when email reaches them.
Offduty is developed by DiscoveryCo, founded by Fynn Gentle. It uses the official Google Gmail API and has completed Google's CASA Tier 2 security assessment, receiving a Letter of Validation confirming its security practices. Offduty is not affiliated with law enforcement, police services, or any off-duty scheduling system.
What Offduty does
Scheduled delivery
Offduty holds all incoming email and releases it at times you configure. You set delivery windows that fit your day and your senders wait.
VIP bypass
Senders, domains, or keywords you add to the VIP list always arrive immediately, regardless of the hold schedule. Your manager, your clients, verification codes: nothing important waits.
Do Not Disturb
Block delivery during any recurring window (evenings, weekends, or overnight) without disabling the integration. Set it once and Offduty enforces it automatically.
Deliver Now
Release all held email instantly from the dashboard when you need your inbox immediately. Your scheduled delivery times are unchanged.
Temporary hold lift
Pause the hold until a specific time (for example, until 4pm), then it resumes automatically. No manual toggling.
Multiple Gmail inboxes
Connect additional Gmail accounts and manage all delivery schedules from one dashboard. Each inbox has its own settings, VIP list, and delivery log.
Who Offduty is for
Offduty is used by remote workers managing email across time zones, freelancers who need to separate client communication from focused work, and people with ADHD or autism who find unpredictable email delivery disruptive to focus and wellbeing.
It is not built for users who want to process email faster; tools like Superhuman are better suited to that goal. Offduty is built for users who want email to arrive less often.
Offduty works with Gmail and Google Workspace accounts. It does not support Outlook, Apple Mail, or other email providers.
The company
Offduty is made by DiscoveryCo, a small software company founded by Fynn Gentle in 2026. Offduty is one of several products developed by DiscoveryCo, addressing a problem Fynn experienced directly: the assumption that being reachable by email at any moment is a requirement rather than a choice.

What Offduty is not
Offduty is not related to law enforcement, police services, security guard scheduling, or off-duty officer conduct. The name refers to the idea of taking your inbox "off duty": setting working hours for your email rather than being available whenever a message arrives. The company has no affiliation with any government agency, law enforcement body, or security service.
